TREIBSTOFF‘s regular artist MAETRIK takes the next curve at a 90 degree angle: after the straight Dub-Tech in his early works and the frightening Hi-Tech-Electro in his album „Casi Profundo“, he has now turned into the Blade Runner of Techno. But instead of gliding around in a rather silly-looking sweetie‘s box, he seems to prefer riding a proper all-terrain fourwheel drive! The gloomy, complex Sience Fiction scenario is placed on an efficiently marching 4/4 structure that heads straight towards the dance-floor. And a robo-commander is giving commands via Intra-Funk. It is buzzing and rattling in every corner. The reticule already aims at the intended target, threateningly blinking and ready to shoot. But it is RENÉ BREITBARTH‘s turn to push the red button. He presents a remix version where the focus is more on dramaturgy and editing than on the complete rearrangement of the orignal version. With the result that this nastily thundering vehicle is now equipped with a few, addit! ional cruise missiles. This is great art where the devil is in the detail.
